WebHTCondor is an open-source high-throughput computing software framework for coarse-grained distributed parallelization of computationally intensive tasks. [1] It can be used to manage workload on a dedicated cluster of computers, or to farm out work to idle desktop computers – so-called cycle scavenging. WebSuch an environment is called a High-Throughput Computing (HTC) environment. In contrast, High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments deliver a tremendous amount of power over a short period of time. HPC environments are often measured in terms of FLoating point OPerations per Second (FLOPS).
